Iconic Costumes Through Matrix

Matrix Filmi ve Simgeleşmiş Kostümler

Dönemin teknik ve teknolojik gelişmelerinden oldukça etkilenen bilim kurgu sineması türü distopik evrenler yaratma konusunda ufuk açıcıdır. Geleceğin ön izlemesi gibi olan bu filmler gösterildiği zamanlarda izleyicileri her zaman şaşırtmış ve etkilemiştir. Bilim kurgu türünde üretilen filmlerde kostüm ve aksesuarlar film kadar diğer sektörleri de etkilemiştir. Bu sektörlerin başında moda, müzik, tekstil, giyim, mekan tasarımı gelmektedir. Bununla birlikte, ayakkabı, çanta, saç tasarımı gibi unsurlarla ilişkide olunan tüm sektörler film kaynaklı yeni bir tarz oluştururlar. Karakterle özdeşleşen kostümler izleyeni de etkisi altına alarak ticari sektörü de yönlendirir. Bu makalede, yönetmenliğini Wachowski Kardeşlerin yaptığı Matrix filmi ve filmin kostümleri, simgesel anlamları, karakterlerin üzerindeki etkileri açısından incelenmiştir.

Abstract

The science fiction cinema genre, which was highly influenced by the technical and technological developments of the period, is stimulating in creating dystopian universes. These films, which are like a preview of the future, have always surprised and impressed the viewers when they were shown. In the science fiction movies, costumes and accessories have affected other sectors as well as the film. Besides fashion, music, textile, clothing, space design, all kinds of accessories; All sectors associated with elements such as shoes, bags and hair design create a new movie-based style. The costumes identified with the character also influence the viewer and direct the commercial sector. In this paper, the costumes, symbolic meanings and the effects on the characters of the film, which was originally named Matrix in 1999, directed by The Wachowskis, which is one of the examples of the Science Fiction film genre of Holwwod Cinema, will be revealed.
