Usage Possibilities of Three Dimensional Printing Technology in Design and Production in Ceramics

Tasarımda ve Üretimde Üç Boyutlu Baskı Teknolojisinin Seramik Alanında Kullanım Olanakları
İnsanoğlu varoluşundan itibaren yaşamını sürdürmek için çeşitli ürünler tasarlamış ve üretmiştir. Bu üretimler her disiplin için kendi geleneksel süreci içerisinde, zamanla geliştirilerek bugünkü haline ulaşmıştır. 3 Boyutlu Baskı üretimi ise, günümüz teknolojisini kullanarak hem tasarıma hem de üretime yeni bir bakış açısı sunmaktadır. Bu makalede 3B baskının tarihsel gelişiminden kısaca bahsedilerek çeşitli örnekler verilmiştir. 3B baskı teknolojisinin kullanım olanakları ve yöntemlerinin yanı sıra, kullanılan makineler ve malzemeler anlatılarak bu teknolojinin süreçleri açıklanmıştır. Özellikle seramik alanında yapılan araştırmalar ele alınmış, bu sayede 3B baskı teknolojisinde kullanılan şekillendirme yöntemleri ve makinelerden söz edilmiştir. Günümüzde seramik, kendine özgü geleneksel üretim şekline sahip bir disiplin olarak, 3B baskı teknolojisine güncel uygulamalarla adapte edilebilmekte ve bu sayede yeni tasarım ve üretim önerilerine açık görülmektedir. Makale, ileriye dönük kullanım olanakları düşünüldüğünde, seramik alanında 3B baskının, var olan geleneksel yöntemlere ve malzemelere eklemlenerek bu disipline yeni bir perspektiften bakılmasını öngörmektedir.

Abstract
From the moment of its existence, human beings have designed and produced various products to sustain their lives. These productions, for each discipline in their traditional process, over time, have been developed to the present day. 3D printing production offers a new perspective to both design and production by using today's technology. This article briefly discusses the historical development of 3D printing and gives several examples. The processes of this technology are explained by mentioning the possibilities and methods of 3D printing technology as well as the machines and materials used. In particular, researches in the field of ceramics have been addressed, thus the forming methods and machines used in 3D printing technology have been mentioned. Today, ceramics as a discipline with its distinctive traditional form of production can be adapted to 3D printing technology with up-to-date applications and is open to new design and production proposals. Considering the possibilities of its future use, the article suggests that the usage of 3D printing in the field of ceramics to be integrated to the traditional methods and materials, offering a new perspective to the discipline.
