Fotoğraf Temelli Sanat Üzerine Bir İnceleme

İnsanlığın ilk fotoğraf karesiyle tanışması 19. yüzyılın ilk yarısına rastlar. Nicephore Niepce’in Pencereden Görünüş isimli ilk fotoğrafı ile fotoğraf teknolojisinin temelleri atılmış, ilerleyen süreçte fotoğrafçılığın etki alanı da genişlemiştir. Günümüzde de yoğun bir biçimde kullanılan bu teknoloji, farklı sanatlarla da ilişki kurarak çağdaş sanatta geniş yer bulmuştur.Fotoğrafın gerçekliğin en iyi göstergelerinden biri olması, kanıtlama gücü, inandırıcılığı ve sorgulayıcılığının yanı sıra sanat nesnesinin biricikliğini ortadan kaldıran yapısı nedeniyle birçok sanatçı tarafından tercih edilmektedir. Sanatçılar tarafından farklı şekillerde istifade edilen fotoğraf, bazen tek başına anlam üretirken bazen de yardımcı bir malzeme, bir araç işlevi üstlenmektedir. Bu araştırmada amaç, son dönemde çağdaş sanatta fotoğrafın ne şekilde yer aldığına ve de ne tür yaklaşımlarla sergilendiğine dair örnekler üzerinden, fotoğrafın çağdaş sanat pratiği içindeki geniş kullanımına dikkat çekmektir.Genel tarama modelinin esas alındığı araştırmada, nitel araştırma yöntem ve teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Nitel verileri elde edebilmek için araştırma sürecinde ise doküman incelemesi yöntemi kullanılmıştır.Araştırmada, sanatçıların, fotoğraftan farklı şekillerde yararlandıkları görülmüştür; Kimileri buluntu fotoğraflar kullanarak, kendilerinin ve diğer insanların hatıralarının, geçmişlerinin ve bilinçlerinin gerçekliği ve kurgusallığı arasındaki belirsizliğe işaret ederken kimileri; fotoğraflarıyla büründükleri bir takım roller üzerinden kimlik, cinsiyet, başkalaşım, aidiyet, gibi kavramları sorgulamışlardır. Çalışma göstermektedir ki; fotoğraf sadece an’ı kaydetmenin çok ötesinde konumlanmaktadır.

Human first met the first photograph shot in the first half of the 19th century. With the first shot of Nicerhore Niepce’s named ‘the View from the Window’, the pgotograpghy technology has started and afterwhile the area of influence of the photograhy has been enlarged. This technology, which is being used intensively at the present day as well, has found a large place by establishing relations with different arts.Since the photograph is one of the best indicators of the reality, and because of its proof power, persuasiveness and inquisitiveness and its structure which removes the uniqeness of the art object, it is preferred by many artists.The photograph, which is benefitted from itself alone, sometimes produces meaning by itself; and sometimes it functios only as a helper material, a tool.The aim of this research is to attract attention to the large usage of the photograph in the contemporary art practice upon the examples how it takes part in the modern art and what kind of approaches has been followed.Qualitative research methods and techniques were used in the research in which general review modal has been taken as basis.In the research, the artists have been noticed that they have benefitted from the photograph in different ways; some have used foundling photographs and thus have pointed out the uncertainty between the reality and the fictionality of the memories, past and consciousness of themselves and other people; and some have interrogated the concepts such as identity, gender, metamorphosis and petinence upon the roles which they have taken with their photographs.As a result it has been understood that photograph has been situated much more beyond from just to record the moment.
