this awareness will be knowledgeable, consistent and sensitive about keeping the environment clean in the future. Tales, in this context, are particularly recommended works to bring about environmental awareness in children at an early age. Because, tales have every possible feature that will draw children’s attentions. Of qualitative research techniques, documents analysis technique is used in this study. In order to determine the study group, sampling criteria is used from purposeful sampling techniques. In the study, some works from national and foreign literature and some major works of tale genre were examined. Having examined whether the works are related to environment education or not, the selected sentences or paragraphs pointing to environment education have been classified among themselves. Then, how to give environmental education with tales; what can be done in the classroom and school environment is discussed. It is concluded that fairy tales can be used easily and effectively in environmental education
