1689885506 COLOR AND TEXTURE EFFECTS OF TITAN OXIDE AND ZINC OXIDE IN TRANSPARENT STONEWARE GLAZE

The biggest feature of stoneware glazes, known as transparent, semi-opaque or covering glaze, which matures between 1200°C and 1300°C, is that they are lead-free. It is a type of glaze preferred by many ceramic artists as well as being used in industry due to its lead-free nature. It is possible to obtain different colors and textures according to the characteristics of the raw materials and oxides used in Stoneware glazes. In this study, the opacity changes in the glaze were investigated by adding zinc and titanium oxide to the transparent glaze recipe, which was prepared at the rates determined according to the dual system. In addition, cobalt, copper and iron oxide were added to the glaze recipe, which was made opaque with the addition, and color and texture differences on the glazed surface were observed.
