The aim of the research is to examine the opinions of students and parents on the practice of freedom of dress in schools. For this purpose, the opinions of students and parents about the new situation that emerged with the abolition of the uniform dress requirement in schools in accordance with the "Regulation on the Dress and Dress of School Students Affiliated to the Ministry of National Education", which was published in the Official Gazette dated 27/11/2012 and numbered 28480, was examined. Determining the opinions of the students and parents who will be primarily affected by the free dress code in schools from different perspectives; It is considered to be important in terms of determining the limits and taking the necessary precautions in the legal regulations regarding school uniforms. The sample represents the universe. The questionnaire is valid according to expert opinion. It is assumed that students and parents give correct and sincere answers to the questionnaire. The subject of the research is limited to the views of middle and high school students aged 10-18 and their parents about the free dress code in schools. The sample group of the research is limited to the students and their parents of 4 secondary schools and 4 high schools affiliated to the center in the province of Trabzon in the 2012-2013 academic year.
