1686133260 THE “BLADE RUNNER (1982)” MOVIE’S SEMIOTIC ANALYSIS

Before the discovery of writing, human; painted images to express and convey his observations and experiences. The semiotic scope of images can show an explanation between historical periods and civilizations. Cinema is an imaginary art produced with motion pictures. Science fiction cinema, on the other hand, attracts a lot of attention today as a genre that carries the search for dreams to space and the future. The main feature of dystopian movies, which is a sub-genre of science fiction cinema, is that they present a dark future. Blade Runner (1982), directed by Ridley Scott, which is one of the important examples of dystopian films, is assumed to be a criticism of modern and post-modern society. The main purpose of this run is to make a semiotic analysis of Blade Runner (1982). In this context, Roland Barthes' interpretation and Saussure's understanding of sign are based. The semiotic equivalents of modern and post-modern social criticism have been tried to be measured in this way.
