When we look at art history, we see that the human image in works of art is depicted with textiles and clothes. The clothes, which directly represent the body in daily life, carries the traces of the individual and cultural identity of the user, and it also has symbolic meanings that convey intellectual messages and transfer aesthetic and philosophical discourse. The artist can reveal the form of the clothes or itself as a work of art for the purpose of emphasizing, criticizing and changing these symbolic meanings. When evaluated in terms of plastic criteria, clothes express a plastic value that is limited within its own structure to the shape of the body first. This research addresses the aesthetic, plastic and conceptual values that artists want to convey and express the clothes as a means of expression in painting, sculpture and fiber art. Interpretations of artists and art critics will be given through various selected works.
