1549449630 A SUPPORTIVE COURSE MODEL FOR ART STUDIO IN CERAMIC EDUCATION: EXHIBITION AND SPACE

“Studio Art” classes that students use all of the theirtheorical, practice and professional knowledge they learned during their educational life. During those main classes, they try to find their own artistic identities using their theoratical and professional knowlegde. The works produced with one-on-one dialog with the professor during the class are exhibited at the end of the semester. Exhibition and Space course is designed for the students to learn the relation between the space and the exhibition and help them to encounter the problems of the display phase. The class consist of both theoretical knowledge of exhibitions, museum, white cube galleries and other basic concepts of an exhibition, and searches for answers about how to display an exhibition. The exercises for this class are done at both in scaled models and in real spaces. Students work on basic display techniques for the development of space concept and perception. Developing alternative and personal exhibition techniques, the relationship between artist identity and space is explored, exhibiting techniques and exhibition concept are supported with innovative ideas on contemporary space concepts and artist examples. It is aimed that this study will be a model that will enable students to develop their knowledge in the field of exhibition in the institutions providing ceramic education.
