In creativity, what requires is to create a new and original product by benefiting from the past accumulations, using the abilities and as a result of capability. Creativity is a concept which is used in business environments, emotional and mental activities. It can be said that creative ability composes the basis of all aspects of human life and development.
Creativity in art education can be acquired by a serious and consistent education process. Art education can be called as “the effort of having people to grow up and make them conscious of art and culture”. As art education also includes practical works, it is known that it has a huge effect on creativity.
In this study, goals of the visual arts education for 1 to 8 graders in primary schools have been analyzed. In this qualitative study, document analyze technique has been used. If we look to the curriculum for the visual arts education course as a meaningful whole, we can say that goals aren’t suitable for the students’ creativity levels.
